Had my ID Buzz for around 9 months/12,000 miles and generally all good.
I noticed today that the side of the drivers seat has split. It looks to me that this split follows the crease line where the side bolster folds when getting in and out. I went for the option of the hard wearing seats so it has come as a bit of a surprise.

I called the dealer, Breeze Van centre, Portsmouth, and explained the issue. They initially wanted pictures, which I sent, then the reg and millage, which I sent and now they want to see the van. I can't just pop by, I need to make an appointment and leave it with them for a couple of days! ( this is my work van ).

Has anyone else seen this on an ID Buzz?, I am not expecting VW to own up to there being an issue.

It does appear that VW dealers are both the judge and jury when it comes to warrenty. I wasted an hour today to take the ID Buzz into the VW dealer into Martins, the VW dealer in Basingstoke so they could see it in person (pictures would not surfice). The service supervisor, Steve, stated that it was not covered under warranty. He showed me his guide to issue and pointed out the creases in the side bolster are not covered and concluded that the creases then cracking are also not covered!

I tried calling VW customer service back but all they do is call the dealer and ask them! The customer service team must be off-shore, took me ages to to phonetically spell out "BASINGSTOKE" and a Bolster was a really mystery.

I paid extra to have the Robust fabric which appears to be a complete waste of money.

So after 9 Months and 12k miles the seat is split, I would be interested to know if this would be acceptable after three years at the end of a leases or if they would expect the seat to be replaced.

Looked at a Golf GTi at Martins today but following the crap service on the van I won't be going near another VW.
